I have to share this wonderful news with you about two new stores that have opened in Vancouver. The first is Collage Collage, a store, a school, a gallery and a workshop for children and adults. It is really lovely. Erin has kept the decore simple, mostly white with tubs of supplies and a wall of inspiring books. She has great taste in books. She is carry lots of local authors and artists. And in the middle of the store is a table for the workshops. I bought a miniature plastic duck and a book of paper dolls. The paper dolls are all singers from the 60's. It is amazing!
Anyway, go in there and check it out. Right now for a month she is featuring the work of Julie Morstad, whose work I love.
Then, since you are there already, go next door to check out the new Ruby Dog's Art House. There is no more bulk section but the place looks so great. It is smaller but still packed with wonderful things for art making. Leanne gets in new products all the time. Both of these stores are so inspiring!
I think everyone should go into both of these stores with the intention of making at least one Christmas present this year. Handmade gifts really are the best. Support these independent art supply stores, spend some time being creative, and give the best kind of gift.
