Remember film? I finished a really challenging film project a couple of weeks ago and have been feeling a strong attachment to it lately. It's a love hate relationship that I'm trying to decipher. During a loaded and emotional conversation with my boyfriend about photography he suggested I step away from what I was struggling with and try something completely different, to give myself a rest and as an exercise in experimenting towards even more greatness. He's rad. But until I stumbled upon my grandfather's old Minolta Freedom III I didn't know what that something new was going to be. Now, I'm carrying this automatic plastic amazingness around with me everywhere. There's something incredibly thrilling about not seeing your photos until they are developed, and then leaving them as is. No. Edits. And film just looks fucking cool. There's no denying it.
