What happens when an aspiring photographer moves into a place with great lighting and wants to practice her food photography? Lots of cooking and food photos.
Over the last couple days I've been food crazy. Cooking, canning, freezing. I froze 10 lbs of local strawberries and 12 lbs of local blueberries. I also purchased sea asapragus from the new farmer's market in my neighbourhood and tried it in a stirfry.
The sea asparagus is salty and the texture was a bit more dense that I would have liked, I think. I am going to try a pesto with the rest of what I bought.
The weather is going through a cool spell, which is inspiring me to make soup. So many people don't like pea soup but I just can't understand it. It's so comforting for me. I make a yellow pea soup with candied salmon and it's truly one of my favourite meals.
Popsicles anyone? I'm hooked. First I made cucumber lime, and strawberry lime. Then mint watermelon and basil watermelon.
And last but definitely not least, I made pickled turnips again. SO good!!
